White Bass and Crow Flies
(Preview)
So the white bass here in Texas are starting to chase the shad in open water. They push the baitballs to the surface for a few minutes then go down, after a few minutes they get the bait balled up again and they pop up in a different spot.. I love this type of fishing, the Run N Gun and casting at boiling school...

There still here
(Preview)
Wind finally shifted out of the North and our overnight temps dropped to 53F. It has been soooo hot even to fish. Had to go this morning after the big cool off. There are still some flounders around if you know where to go. I caught probably 25 Red Drum, all were 16-17" range, to small to keep and p...

Spec are here!
(Preview)
Wow! All of a sudden the specs have arrived in great numbers. Although NC only allows you to keep 4 fish over 14" the fish this year are 20" size. I went 4 times this past week and limited out each time. Top water for the first hour after light and then sinking twitch baits thereafter. They h...

So with hunting season over for me I turned my focus to my real passion... catching fish.. Building some fish attractors for my folks boat slip. Right now there are 6 Bill Dance Porcupine PVC fish attractors under the main dock.. and I made some fun stuff for the slip fingers. The slip is 40'x 18' so there...

Pontoon Madness
(Preview)
Went out on my folks pontoon boat this evening.. fishing in Texas is a bit of a let down from the tuna, and Cali coastal fishing I'm use to, but today was pretty dang fun. Had to drop down to 6lb crappie gear for a WFO white bass bite. I got fish on topwater, a mini umbrela rig, and 1/4oz krocodiles along wit...

Eastern NC coastal waters are on fire
(Preview)
The entire month of May was a disaster for fishing. The wind has blown every day and rained most of the month. June has been a pleasant change and the fishing is great. Got a chance to go out today and really worked on a school of speckled trout. We also caught a large amount of flounders. We kept three...

Early Bird Flounder
(Preview)
About a month to early to even try to flounder fish, but boy has it been warm. We have had very warm temps (75-80 F) the last couple of weeks and I had to give it a try. Although we only caught one keeper, it was a goodern. The pic is my son-in-law and my 3 yr. old granddaughter and my new 2500 HD diesel. Not...
