Shot at a bullfrog..missed.. shot 8 crows ...recovered 2 ... got video of a crow I ventilated at about 20 feet.. then I went and played with a roost for a bit... I shot only once because I was within a few hundred yards of a roost that builds to several thousand later in the season. 1 had about 40 crows circling me for almost 20 minutes... I'll get the video up shortly ((if you want to hear me blow a crow call non stop)).. then as I'm walking to my car 10-12 Canada geese fly over me at no more then 40 yards up... DAM IT!.. wrong gun, lead, and unplugged.. have a nice day geese. Then as I'm climbing into my car 3 different packs of coyote within 600 yards or so GO NUTS.... so of course I threw back on the camo..set out the mojo thing and the foxpro fury screeching out dying rabbit sounds on and off for an hour...no joy.. time to hit the road.. was a good warm up day.
Glad to see ya out there getting after things instead of babysitting our mistakes on the forum. Keep it up, it's good for the soul.
Yeah, just doing home work right now.. the area I crow hunt is visited by weekend warrior dove hunters...thing is ...dove hunting in this area sucks rocks so the dove hunters have been taking pot shots at the local crows.. they are crazy educated right now...worst I've seen... but new birds are filtering in, and once it gets cold the area is all mine.. plus the "War Wagon" ((my little chevy S10)) can coast over this wet texas clay were all the redneck truckzilla's sink.. should be a good year.
I went out today as well...didnt fire a single shot... but I did get better video of crows staging... then on the roost getting ready for bed... I am uploading to youtube now...I will post the links in the "Blind" members only forum.
