Went out on my folks pontoon boat this evening.. fishing in Texas is a bit of a let down from the tuna, and Cali coastal fishing I'm use to, but today was pretty dang fun. Had to drop down to 6lb crappie gear for a WFO white bass bite. I got fish on topwater, a mini umbrela rig, and 1/4oz krocodiles along with some other weird spoon that has a rattle chamber attached to it. The fish boiled around the boat for over an hour crushing 2" shad..... between my folks and I we boated over 30 rats... not so hot for the frig...but like I said... it was fun.

I didn't take any pictures I was too busy doing the two rod shuffle. I had my 13 year old niece wind in and unhook most my fish. biggrin

We eat whites up here ( lol white bass). You need to cut out the mudline, but the rest of the meat is good for frying up like crappie.

I have a mess of yellow perch and walleye in my freezer all vac packed from Spring I need to fry soon. I only give freezer fish 6 to 7 months in the fridge before I consider it cat food.
