Very cool stuff, I would never in a million years have thought to stick a sock over my decoy... that is way outside the box thinking.... I have a $100 decoy bag for my flockers, and a can of Krylon flat black for my regular plastic decoys... a smelly o'le sock is much cheaper and waaay more durable...

A superb example of German engineering, pretty darn clever! I suspect the socks would get dirty with dried mud very quickly but as you point out they can be washed or replaced.

If they are on a stick, they don't get mucky if you store the sticks in a different bag. They certainly are easier to clean than flocked ones.

I for one wil be trying it out. Sure is a great way to take the glare off the decs. Not a fan of the flocked decs so this will be a new twist to try. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I am delighted that you like them. I'll be socking my old flocked ones soon. Just make sure they are the right size. Too small and they stretch too much... What do you think about the mobile version? Will they make a difference?

Motion decoys are fine if you have one that is realistic. Some on the market on a pedistal that go around and around. I have not seen crows do that in all my years. Flappers as used in goose hunting work to some extent, but NOTHING works like dead crows as decoys. Trust me I have had all encounters using all kinds of tricks. Dead crows are the killer. Freeze them from previous hunts with their wings tucked tight against their bodies wraped in new paper to keep the frost off their backs or however you choose. It does not take many to create a dead zone. They can not resist!

I personally use two decoys built by Mr. Tracy Blake that are wind driven. Only problem is if the wind is calm they do not help much. It does not take much wind to make them move and when they do they fly up and down just like a crow coming in to land. Hi Gary, thanks for your input. The decoys you have suggested look great. I'll be adding them to my armoury at some stage. First I want to add Avery decoys to my sentinel crew. The size of them really provide some pulling power.
I can't wait for next season to start...
