There are not many things in the South that we can say we like that comes from the North, but this year from a crow hunting prospective we thank you for the number of crows you have sent us running from your frigid cold weather. They keep coming and we keep shooting them. We are approaching 1,000 birds KIA for the month of January with only six hunts to our credit. You guys have snow and we have rain so it is not all good here, but I'll take the rain!
Well from one of the guys up here Gary your welcome. Here in Michigan the crow season just opened up last Saturday on the 1st. Snowstorm and high winds. Didn't make it out. So tomorrow is my first day off to start the season. I'm excited to get back at it even though there is a wind chill warning for Friday morning. The way I see it right now if I have to wait for a day off to coincide with even decent weather to go play I might as well wait for turkey season!!
Your welcome, save some for a return flight please. Perhaps when I fully retire in a couple of years I should give some serious thought to becoming a crow bird instead of a snow bird in winter in the Carolina's I have heard it's been a cold winter in your area too this year.
I think I shot myself in the foot with my "Up North" comment. Two weeks ago we had 4 inches of snow, last week we had 2 inches and yesterday 10 inches and today an ice storm to top it all off. Not had this much snow here in at least 30 years. I am praying that it does not bump our birds out of the area. They are saying it will all be gone by Thurs. night, just in time for our hunt on Friday.
