Yes there is a little hope, but you have to wonder what changes these young people will see in their lifetime as development continues to erode areas open to hunting, as politicians continue to try to limit firearm ownership and use and society continues to grow in it's negative view of hunters and hunting. If you want to see a scary statistic ask your state wildlife agency for their hunting license sales numbers over the last 30 years.
Yep NH you are preaching to the choir. I know how bad it has gotten and that is exactly why I do what I do. I film and post our hunts and fishing adventures not for the glory, nor do I have any sponsors to answer to. I just want people to see the enjoyment that me and my "friends & family" get out of the outdoors in hopes that other people will see it and want to give it a try. If you go to my YouTube page you will see that half of my hunts involve youth or first time hunters. I love hunting and fishing, and I want my grandchildren to have the same opportunities.
I actually introduced one of my nieces to the fun of shotgunning farm trash and aluminum cans this year... maybe next year I will get her to hunt... I have high hopes because she kept the aluminum cans and a couple of the shot shells for her room...
Was really good to see that many young people engaged in hunting... the video game is going to be the death of outdoor sports...
