The North Carolina season has come to an end. Taking the last day of the season off of work is like taking your birthday off, just feels like the right thing to do. We really did not have a good place to go, so we decided to hunt a few spots that we had hunted earlier in the season. Even though we had let these birds settle for six weeks, two of our spots they were about 50% respondent. "They do not forget". Forecast called for very warm temps (75F) and high winds with a storm front with rain in the pm. The birds were on the ground early and by midday it was all but over. Rather than burn the now $4.14 diesel fuel riding around blind hunting, we let the season end at 2:00 with 65 birds to our credit.
